Major Airports

The major airports in Kenya are Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (J.K.I.A), Mombasa's Moi International Airport (MIA), and Eldoret Airport. There is also Wilson airport, mostly used for domestic and regional flights.

In Tanzania, the major airports include Kilimanjaro Airport, Dar Es Salaam International Airport, and Arusha Airport, which is used mostly for domestic flights. Zanzibar International Airport serves Zanzibar.

The major airports in the region receive regular flights from Europe, mostly direct from London and Amsterdam.

Visas & Medical Information

Visitors must be in possession of valid visas and health documentation on arrival. The regulations vary depending on nationality and country of origin and should be checked with the nearest tourist office or diplomatic mission. Inoculation centers in the country of origin will provide updated information and advice on health regulations and recommendations (Anti-malarial medication is recommended for a visit to Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar).

Currently, visa fees in Kenya and Tanzania (+ Zanzibar) are US$ 50.00 per person for most nationalities.

In Zanzibar, however, the departure tax of US$ 25.00 per person is payable at the counter, unlike in other airports where it may be included in the ticket.
