Enjoy an adventurous mountain gorilla trekking experience and wildlife viewing while on a 6 Days Rwanda Wildlife and Gorilla safari. This safari takes you into exploring two national parks including Volcanoes national park that is known as home to the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Volcanoes national park is the only spot in Rwanda where gorilla trekking safari takes place due to the fact that it is home to a sizeable number of the remaining gorillas in the world second to Bwindi Impenetrable national park with the largest population of mountain gorillas in the wild.
Day by day itinerary
Day 1:Arrival Kigali + Overnight
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, Meet & Greet Services, followed by transfer to your Kigali hotel.
Overnight on Bed & Breakfast basis: Kigali Serena Hotel or Park Inn by Radisson Hotel
Day 2:Kigali-City Tour/Nyungwe Forest National Park
A morning brief orientation tour of Kigali City, as you visit the Genocide Memorial Museum. Shortly after, depart for Nyungwe Forest National Park in southern Rwanda. 260km, 5.0hrs Enroute, visit Rwanda’s Cultural & Historic Towns of Nyanza & Butare, for their museums; Lunch at IBIS Hotel (or similar), in Butare Town.Arrive at your Nyungwe hotel in the late afternoon.
Overnight on Full-board basis: Nyungwe House Resort or Top View Hill Hotel.
Day 3:Nyungwe Forest - Chimps Trek/Canopy Hike
Morning, immerse yourself in the tranquility and awe-inspiring Nyungwe Forest in your search for the Chimpanzees.At the end of your one hour with these beautiful primates, return to your hotel for freshening up and lunch.Afternoon, take up the Adventure Canopy Hike, A metal bridge suspended 90metres above ground and 160metres long, across a forested gorge - thus giving you a bird’s panoramic view across the forest canopy.

Day 4:Nyungwe Forest - Colobus Monkeys Trek/Kibuye - Lunch/Volcanoes National Park
Morning, enjoy trekking the beautiful but nonchalant Black & White Colobus Monkeys. Lunch at the hotel, followed by check-out.Mid-morning, drive north-west, Along Lake Kivu shores, to central Lake Kivu town of Kibuye. 130km, 2.0hrs Lunch at the lake-shore Cormoran Lodge, and brief photo opportunity of the lake sceneries. Afternoon, drive further north and then east. To the Volcanoes Mountains region, home to the Mountain Gorillas & Golden Monkeys. 94km, 2.5hrs
Overnight on Full-board basis: Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.
Day 5:Volcanoes Forest-Gorilla Trek/Cultural Village Visit
Morning, enjoy the ultimate once-in-a-lifetime thrilling adventure - Mountain Gorilla Trek, in the volcanoes forest. After the mandatory one-hour duration with your gorilla family, drive back to your lodge for freshening up and lunch. After lunch, relax at the lodge as you re-live the fresh memories of your close encounter with a human being’s closest relative in the wild. Late afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Iby’Iwachu Cultural Village (Gorillas Guardians) visit - for some insights into the transformed lifestyle of these families of former gorilla poachers; + traditional dance performance.

Day 6:Volcanoes Forest-Golden Monkeys Trek/Kigali/Depart
Morning, undertake the Golden Monkeys Trek adventure in the volcanoes forest, trekking the only other member of the primate species residing in the volcanoes forest. Freshening up and lunch at the lodge, followed by check-out - ready for your journey back to Kigali.
Shortly after, bid farewell to the volcanoes mountains region and drive down the slopes, on the winding road, arriving in Kigali in the late afternoon, with onward transfer to the Kigali International Airport for your evening outbound.
