On the shores of the Indian Ocean, at the edge of the ancient settlement of Malindi lies The Driftwood, nestled into the Kenyan coast, with a charm all of its own. As a small and privately owned hotel, the owners have particularly enjoyed developing a sense of warmth and familiarity that sees guests returning time and again.

Each cottage has 2 en suite bedrooms, with a lounge area and veranda overlooking the pool. Each cottage is equipped with a mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.

ROOM AMENITIES: The majority of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms and every room has a mosquito net over the beds. 9 rooms have a seaview and the other rooms are spread out in tropical gardens a short walk away from the beach.

There are two luxury cottages situated in a private walled garden with their own swimming pool. Each cottage has two double en-suite bedrooms with a living room and veranda overlooking the pool. Sea view rooms have tea and coffee delivered outside their rooms in the morning. Cots can be supplied on request.

A new addition to the Driftwood is three luxury self-catering villas situated in secluded private premises directly behind the club with a private swimming pool. Two of the villas have 2 double air-conditioned bedrooms and one villa has a third single room. Each villa has its own kitchen, living/dining room and veranda overlooking the swimming pool. Guests can, if they so wish, make full use of the Driftwood facilities and if they prefer not to do their own catering, dine at the Driftwood Beach club.

Food & Drink

The main dining room and bar overlook the Indian Ocean. Our restaurant offers a choice between table te and a la carte menus, as well as daily specials offering a wide variety of fresh seafood. During the day we offer a snack menu at the poolside. The attractive dining room lends itself to both large groups or small and the catering team are able to produce a delicious meal to your specification. Sample menus are available on request or just talk to the management staff who will organize your special requirements

The long serving and experienced team are on hand to offer some of the best food in Malindi and to arrange some of the many activities that are available from here. These include deep-sea fishing, scuba diving and snorkelling, windsurfing, kite-surfing and water ski-ing on Mida Creek and bird watching on the Sabaki Delta or in the Arabuko-Sokoke forest. For those who simply want to relax, that is 4 miles of white beach to walk, a small treatment room and plenty of space to find peace and quiet.
