NTravel to Kisoro and discover the rustic Nkuringo Safari Lodge. This magical paradise on the shores of Lake Mutanda overlooks the magnificent Virunga Volcanoes. Here you can experience the best of both worlds, the modern comforts of home and the tranquility of unspoiled nature.
Accommodation is provided at the camp in our 6 room Virunga Terrace where toilet and bathroom facilities are shared (rooms are not en-suite). We also have two hand crafted luxury cottages with en-suite facilites. Each cottage has a private terrace with wonderful views. There accommodation is excellent with self-contained tented rooms along with cottages. The fee usually includes breakfast and food for those who so wish to have it at the lodge.
By virtue of the altitude of the camp and cool evenings the presence of mosquitoes are very rare. Nkuringo Gorilla Camp has become the first accommodation venue in Uganda to achieve a carbon neutral position; it is now 100% carbon neutral. We chose to do our part by offsetting all our carbon emissions for the past 12 month period resulting from burning of fossil fuels and biomass in our business travel, heating, cooking and lighting. We strongly feel that this is the right thing to do and appreciate that an aggregate of such actions around the world will help in achieving the climate change mitigation targets.
The safari lodge is well known for its fully stocked bar along with a restaurant that serves both international and local cuisine.
Two beautifully hand-crafted en-suite Cottages and six Virunga Terrace Rooms with shared bathroom and eco-toilet facilities. We wanted to do safari with my wife in Kenya. Diwaka Safaris organized our trip for 17 days professionally. We were very satisfied with all services. The best part was our guide Patrick Waweru who did an excellent job.
