Rekero Camp Masai Mara is tucked amongst tall deciduous trees and is designed so that it complements rather than competes with its awesome surroundings. At Rekero, the focus is outside, not within the tents. Even when the migration isn't passing through camp, there's plenty to see from your tent or the main mess at Rekero.
Rekero Camp has 9 spacious tents (one family tent and 8 tents able to accommodate twins/doubles of triples). All are en-suite with flush loos and safari showers.
When the migration is not here, there is plenty of resident game to ensure that even in low season, it is still one of the finest wildlife locations in Africa Rekero’s bush guides are widely recognized to be among the best in East Africa. They undergo a long period of professional training beyond the learning of guiding skills to fully understand the complexity and demands of delivering quality service at the very highest level. Game drives in the park are all done in the company of these experts who can also share their culture in this extraordinary setting.
The nearest airstrip is Ol Kiombo, which takes daily scheduled flights of multiple operators. Transfers between camp and airstrip will take around 20 minutes.
Wildlife viewing and bird watching can be done on foot with experienced Il Dorobo and Masai guides or custom-built four-wheel-drive vehicles that allow intimate yet unobtrusive access to the animals.
Visits to one of the guide's village can be arranged; walking can also be arranged in advance in an area outside the reserve. Picnics in the bush and sundowners also feature. Trips on a hot air balloon can be arranged at a local lodge at extra cost.
Rekero Camp Masai Mara boasts the best guides in the Masai Mara and has one of the prime locations in the Reserve helps too. In August or September, when the wildebeest invade from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, you could well find the migration crossing the Talek River in front of Rekero Camp. Rekero Camp Masai Mara sits on a picturesque bend in the Talek River, a seasonal river that rises in the Loita Hills to the East and cuts a deep rocky path through the wide Ol Misigiyoi and Meta Plains to meet the Mara River in the south of the reserve.

We wanted to do safari with my wife in Kenya. Diwaka Safaris organized our trip for 17 days professionally. We were very satisfied with all services. The best part was our guide Patrick Waweru who did an excellent job.
