The camp was built in a remote area of Tarangire NP on the top of a huge granite rock that rises out of the picturesque landscape.
All tents are built on wooden decks and offer unique views over the savannah, Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley. The picturesque backdrop on the horizon are the volcanoes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area such as the Ngorongoro Crater, Oldeani or Lemagrut … Built to the highest eco-friendly standards, Maweninga has a particularly low-carbon footprint.
Perched on the top of an imposing granite rock, this camp has the privilege of being within the Tarangire National Park, overlooking Lake Manyara and Burunge.Tarangire is considered as one of the most beautiful shelter of the Tanzanian fauna. Its numerous herds of elephants as well as its huge baobab trees have established Tarangire’s reputation.Spreaded over 2 850 km², the average altitude of the park reaches 1 100 m high. It also gets its reputation due to the large number of wild animals, hard to find in others parks, one can observe: in particular Gerenuk, lesser and greater Kudu, Oryx and Eland.
Maweninga Camp offers 16 canvas tents built on individual raised wooden platforms. Each tent features an open terrace, a bedroom, a dressing room alcove with en-suite bathroom.Public areas consist of a lovely restaurant and bar with wooden floors and makuti roof adjacent to the huge flat rock terrace. Camp fire & smaller private dining area can also be found.
