Mombasa is steeped in history. Kenya’s largest port and the second most populous city was first mentioned by name by the 12th-century Arab geographer Al Idrisi, who described it as a prosperous trade emporium selling spices, gold, and ivory to ships from Arabia and Asia. Today, the bustling island-bound city center is overlooked by the imposing Portuguese-built Fort Jesus, and its languid older quarters possess an organic layout and historical feel rare in more modern cities.
Pick up from your hotel at 5.30 p.m. for a romantic dhow sundowner cruise. Sail past the old port to Fort Jesus for the sound and light show. Dinner at the Fort, and then you dropped to the hotel at around 10.00 p.m. (half night). Alternatively, after dinner, you will be taken to a Casino and play for 30 minutes- 1 hour and later driven to Bora-Bora Night Club for the mid-night show and dropped at the hotel at around 1.30 a.m.
