Mweya Safari Lodge offers visitors an unforgettable experience. Located on a peninsula within the heart of the Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Mweya Safari Lodge is surrounded by the magical Rwenzori Mountains aptly described as the ‘Mountains of the Moon’. To the east, lie the guardians of the birthplace of mankind, the Great Rift Valley hills, separated from the Mountains of the Moon by the meandering Kazinga Channel. Here the water flows endlessly into two giant lakes – Lake George and Lake Edward.

Standard Rooms:In our standard single, double and twin rooms, you will find a simple safari atmosphere with a level of comfort that will not disappoint. These rooms are perfectly situated to view the picturesque Lakes George and Edward. One can also view the Rwenzori Mountains while sitting on the balcony watching the warthogs graze.

Food & Drink

Mweya Safari Lodge has become the ultimate, intimate ‘bush break’ venue from small private parties to weddings and formal gatherings. The lodge’s indoor and outdoor conference facilities can be configured to meet clients’ precise requirements.

For exclusivity and privacy, conference groups are encouraged to take over the entire lodge for the duration of their stay. Ideal for smaller breakaway group working sessions or for ‘open air’ conference meetings can be organized, where the only distraction may be the occasional visit of the hippo, elephant, buffalo or other game! From the lodge terrace, it’s almost impossible to tell which way the Kazinga Channel is flowing. It actually flows west (to your right) from Lake George to Lake Edward. But since the change is water level along the 36km Channel is just 40cm it moves extremely slowly. The first European visitor to Mweya was Henry Morton Stanley in 1889.a
