Bougainvillea Safari Lodge is just minutes from the entrance gate to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and beyond sits the Serengeti's endless plains. To the south, the lodge is only a thirty-minute drive to Lake Manyara National Park.
The Rooms The lodge features 24 fully furnished, self contained cottages with either two twin beds or one king bed. Arrangements can be made for triples. There are also family rooms - perfect for those traveling with children. Beds have mosquito netting to ensure a sound sleep. Each cottage features a spacious verandah, fireplace and electrical outlets for those with digital cameras and laptops. Food & Drink With the skills of Chef Reggie, it is no wonder that many compliments are related to the food at Bougainvillea. Meals are served family style and naturally, ensure special dietary requirements are met. Private dining can be arranged in the dining bandas just off the main dining room. They also can prepare both picnic breakfast and picnic lunch for guests heading out to the Ngorongoro Crater or Lake Manyara National Park. The lodge also offers a bar with a selection of popular soft drinks, wines, beers, and spirits. Aside from the dining room, there are small bandas for private meals or small meetings. General Facilities There is a gift shop for those that love to shop Recreational Facilities RECREATIONAL FACILITIES: NATURE WALKS Can arrange guided and self-guided walks showing some of the beautiful flowers as well as the coffee farms and other flora of the area. Walks can last from 30 minutes to three hours, also can arrange a hike in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area ending at a waterfall. Bird watching: There are hundreds of species of birds found in the Karatu area. They range from the waterfowl found to the south in nearby Lake Manyara to birds that nest in the hills of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the crater's rim. Cultural excursions: The lodge, and Karatu is in the heart of the land of Iraqw tribesmen. We can arrange a cultural visit to the town and local village. Also, a few hours drive away, at Lake Eyasi, the hunter/gatherer tribesmen of the Hadzabe and Watoga tribes maintain a culture that has lasted for generations. Each cozy room has mosquito-netted king or twin beds, a fireplace, large bathroom with shower and a veranda from which to enjoy the views of our lush tropical gardens. Triples are possible with prior notice and two of the cottages can be used as family suites, with connecting rooms. There is a large common area building housing reception, lounge, bar, gift shop and dining rooms. The swimming pool sits in the centre of the property surrounded by the cottages and gardens. Guests wanting to experience local culture can easily walk from Bougainvillea Safari Lodge into town from the lodge to experience a bustling African community.

Decided to do one a early Jan before the corona nightmare...wasnt decided on the exact itinerary especially the accommodation to choose...did my own research and decided on the ones I could get though decided they can also advice on what they had in mind so that we could compare prices as well as I could get to check on their diff reviews...was a 4 nights trip just Naivasha where we stayed at Naivasha Sopa and Mara at Ashnil..loved ashnil way better cos of the views as well what we got to see the in terms of wildlife..
