Rhino Valley Lodge

Rhino Valley Lodge is a rustic yet comfortable tented safari lodge set against the backdrop of the rugged but scenic Ngulia Hills in Tsavo West National Park, Kenya. The lodge offers the most idyllic view of the pristine Tsavo West National Park teeming with thousands of wildlife including rhinos that can be viewed all year round from the verandas of the lodge bandas as they frequent the water pond just a few meters below the camp.

Rooms

The lodge features 22 rooms total including 6 standard rooms, 10 luxury Rock Rooms, and 6 self-catering bandas. The standard rooms are en-suite with mosquito nets, luggage racks, and furnished verandas. The 10 luxury Rock Rooms offer unique "caveman" indulgences – one of the most unique experiences you won't find anywhere else in the world and are particularly suitable for honeymooners.

The 6 self-catering bandas each have an en-suite twin room, well-equipped kitchenette, rugged twin beds, and complete bathroom suite, with guests welcome to prepare their own meals or dine at the onsite restaurant.

Facilities

The lodge features a modern gourmet restaurant with an elaborate menu specifically designed for outdoor lovers, and a well-stocked tree bar where guests can enjoy themselves under wide starry tropical skies and in the warmth of a campfire. The camp is lit by a super-silent generator that meets stringent international wildlife and environmental requirements. The spacious grounds provide ideal venues for weddings and team-building activities.

Activities

Activities include day game drives, nature walks, sundowners, bird watching, game viewing, and night game drives. Guests can also enjoy rock climbing up the Ngulia Hills and visits to nearby attractions including Mzima Springs, the Rhino Sanctuary, and the Shetani Lava flow.

The lodge is nestled in the middle of Tsavo West National Park, located 40 km from Mtito Andei gate and 50 km from Tsavo River gate. It's approximately 260 km from Nairobi and 250 km from Mombasa. 

The lodge is formerly known as Ngulia Safari Camp or Ngulia Bandas and is a scenic resort popular for its spectacular views from rooms and balconies onto the watering hole, making it a very basic but comfortable lodge where the view truly makes up for the simple facilities.
