Island Camp Baringo is a luxurious resort on an island in the middle of Lake Baringo, the only freshwater lake north of the hemisphere in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. This island paradise is spread on an eroded volcanic plug surrounded by the tranquil lake giving an amazing 360-degree view of the landscape. You can watch the sunrise from the comfort of your bed as it rises from the Laikipia Plateau in the east. At sunset, you can sit poolside on the lake with a sundowner cocktail and watch it sink into the lake over the Tugen hills with spectacular colors.
There are 11 thatched roof, stone walled rooms with spectacular lake views and canvas fronts that can be opened to bring the outside in. The 4 superior rooms feature, a plunge pool and sunbeds on the large verandah. A special treat is freshly-brewed tea or coffee brought to your suite with fresh cookies before you make it to breakfast.

We wanted to do safari with my wife in Kenya. Diwaka Safaris organized our trip for 17 days professionally. We were very satisfied with all services. The best part was our guide Patrick Waweru who did an excellent job.
