The Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort sits 7,000 feet (2,130m) above sea level on Ol Donyo Opurru (Eburru Hills), approximately 90 minutes from Nairobi by road or a 30-minute flight, offering 360° panoramic views from Lake Naivasha to Mount Longonot, the Aberdare Mountains, and the Rift Valley escarpments. Located on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway, 2 miles off the main road on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, it serves as an ideal weekend getaway and safari stopover between Maasai Mara and Samburu.
Rooms
The lodge offers 30 rooms (21 twin and 9 double rooms), all featuring private balconies overlooking the spectacular expanse of the Rift Valley, with rooms approximately 28 sq m in size. The resort was built in 2000 and renovated in 2012, with 3 floors and set on spacious grounds on Lake Naivasha.
The resort features an 18-hole championship golf course laid out around the lodge on the slopes of a dormant volcano, voted Kenya's Best Golf Hotel 2023. The course is 6,580 yards, par 72, famous for Kenya's longest hole - the par 5 17th at 598 meters (654 yards). Golfers share the fairways with wildlife including zebras, and enjoy stunning views of mountains, plains, and lakes. The resort also has 2 clay tennis courts, outdoor swimming pool, heated pool, and mini golf.
Leisure facilities include massage, cycling, hiking, playground, fishing, horseback riding, bike tours, bicycle rental, walking tours, game drives, bush walks, boating, bass fishing on Lake Naivasha, and kids club. The resort has 7 meeting rooms with capacity for up to 501 people (largest holds 240), making it ideal for conferences and events.
