Simply Saadani Camp

Simply Saadani Camp (formerly Tent With A View Safari Lodge) is located in a remote and secluded location on the Indian Ocean coast. It sits outside Saadani National Park on the northern border with views of the Indian Ocean and Zanzibar Channel, on a former coconut plantation that offers an oasis of tranquility. The camp is located between the Indian Ocean and the Saadani bush in Tanzania's only coastal wildlife preserve—a unique combination of safari and beach where guests arrive via a lush tree-lined tunnel opening onto a pristine white-sand shoreline.

Rooms

The camp features just nine beautiful rustic sea-view tented rooms (luxury tent houses/bandas), all raised up high on large wooden platforms/stilts between coconut palms along the beach. Each en-suite banda has a large private balcony/terrace with chairs and hammock overlooking the Indian Ocean, affording wonderful cooling sea breezes and total privacy. Some cottages are on stilts for added privacy. The simple, barefoot luxury rooms include lovely big double beds (can do twins), comfortable bathrooms with walk-in showers, netting around outdoor areas to prevent unwanted bites, and are made from recycled natural materials with thatched roofs.

Dining

The camp offers two different restaurants: the Beachside Restaurant with wonderful stargazer and stunning Indian Ocean views, and the Mangrove Restaurant set on Mafui creek with beautiful birdlife. Each restaurant has a well-stocked bar with large variety of spirits and wines. The restaurant overlooks the Indian Ocean and serves mainly seafood and fish dishes, with dinner served in the evening as the restaurant "awakens to life" with wind rustling in the background. Breakfast options include continental, full English/Irish, or vegetarian. The lodge has a garden, bar, sitting area, and is solar-powered.

Wildlife & Surroundings

Simple Saadani is surrounded by abundant wildlife ranging from monkeys to bush babies and sits adjacent to the wilderness of Saadani National Park. The former coconut plantation location with lush tree-lined tunnel, pristine white-sand shoreline, mangroves, and creek creates diverse habitats. From the hammock on your porch you can see the deserted beach, and the camp offers a barefoot camps experience blending coastal beauty with wildlife adventure in a remarkable, unique, wild, and remote spot.
