Arumeru River Lodge

Arumeru River Lodge is a mid-range, peaceful sanctuary set on a former coffee plantation surrounded by lush, magnificent tropical gardens, located midway between Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha city in Tanzania. It's just 35 minutes from Kilimanjaro International Airport and 25 minutes from bustling Arusha town, making it the ideal place to start and end your safari in a serene, protected area.

Rooms

The lodge offers 31 chalets, junior suites, and family rooms located in individual bungalows spread across the large tropical estate, offering a touch of African elegance. Accommodation includes 21 spacious garden rooms, 6 junior suites, and 1 large suite with two bedrooms (Meru Cottage ideal for families). All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms with large walk-in showers, verandahs/private terraces, mosquito nets, fans, and complimentary bottled water daily. The rooms are tastefully decorated in African style, and guests can enjoy the tropical garden setting from their private terrace on ground floor level.

About

The lodge's beautiful, lush gardens attract wildlife such as dik-dik antelopes, monkeys, and many colorful bird species that roam freely throughout the seven-hectare property. On a clear day, guests can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru from the restaurant terrace. The tropical gardens create a peaceful interlude where nature's beauty meets exceptional comfort, making you forget you're near town. Dining

The main building features a cosy lounge with central open fireplace for relaxing nights, reception with communication facilities, and treatment rooms. The property includes two restaurants: the main carvery restaurant and the terrace restaurant with views of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro overlooking tropical gardens and the swimming pool. The Migration Restaurant serves delicious African and international dishes combining local spices and fresh ingredients, with many salad and vegetable items from the lodge's own garden. The lodge also offers a comfortable lounge bar area and boutique/curio shop.

Facilities include a large solar-heated swimming pool where guests can relax while watching dik-dik antelope in the garden, fitness center, Wi-Fi in the lobby area, massages available, internet facilities, and a jogging parcours trail through the gardens.
