Dunia Camp

Dunia Camp is unique as the only camp in Africa run entirely by women – an inspirational team that offers a homely experience. The camp offers good-value, high-quality accommodation with a sense of adventure, high standards of guiding, and superb service overall. It's booked on a full-board basis including all meals, selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, guided game drives and walks, parking, and laundry service. The camp occupies a prime location well away from larger hotels and busier game-driving routes.

Activities

Activities include expertly guided game drives (open and closed vehicle) and birdwatching during early morning and late afternoon, with the option to book a private vehicle. Families with children under 12 go on private drives for free in high season. Activities focus on wildlife, especially the huge herds of the Great Wildebeest Migration – wildebeest move through the area in March, graze until June, and make brief appearances in mid-to-late November. Walking safaris are not possible due to the camp's location inside Serengeti National Park. Other activities include picnics and watching nature/wildlife from camp.

The area has a very high concentration of big cats, with game drives combining migration viewing with searching for lion, leopard, cheetah, and black rhino. Wildlife viewing highlights include four of the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo), plus spotted hyena, golden jackal, bat-eared fox, wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, impala, and topi. You may even glimpse elusive wild dog packs. The nearby Seronera River is a perennial water source sustaining large herds of antelope year-round, ensuring excellent lion, leopard, and cheetah sightings. The scenic Moru Kopjes granite protrusions provide elevation for big cats to view their territories.

The camp is 45 minutes from Seronera Airstrip (road transfer) and offers year-round visitation. Dunia is considered one of the best camps in this part of the Serengeti, offering a quieter location in an exclusive valley close to busier areas – ideal for those looking to keep costs and traveling times lower. The secluded setting provides superb year-round game viewing and is ideally situated to catch the wildebeest migration.
