Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is an extraordinary 4-star lodge set high on a tree-clad ridge overlooking the vast Serengeti plains in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. The unique architecture blends traditional African domed "rondavels" widely spaced throughout acacia tree groves with world-class style. A simple timbered reception area built in traditional African style is accessed via a bridge over a small stream. The lodge is grouped around a central "vanishing horizon" infinity pool on the very edge of the ridge that looks out over the "endless plains" after which the Serengeti is named. The domed dining room features lavish Makonde carvings, and the lodge showcases cultural performance, heritage, and traditional art from the nearby 2-million-year-old paleolithic site of Ol Duvai.
