Serengeti Explorer

Serengeti Explorer by Elewana Collection is an upscale contemporary safari lodge that opened in 2024 as the first property under Elewana's new Explorer brand. It occupies one of the most coveted sites in the Serengeti, sitting high up on the Nyaboro Hills overlooking the endless golden plains for which the Serengeti is famed. The reimagined lodge is conveniently located in the western corridor of Serengeti National Park, offering "front row seats" to the Annual Great Migration and awe-inspiring views of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Rooms

The lodge features 74 luxurious accommodations including 68 Savannah Rooms and 6 Savannah Suites, all available in king-size or twin-bed configurations. Rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed with warm textures, natural tones, and sweeping views to create a calm, comfortable retreat in the heart of the Serengeti. Select rooms feature interconnecting layouts (3 rooms) ideal for families or groups, and there are 3 wheelchair-accessible rooms. The accommodation blends Africa-inspired design with comfort and style as priority, offering panoramic views from elevated tiers.

General facilities

The lodge offers exceptional facilities including the Serengeti's first on-site hide, a spectacular infinity pool, the Riva Wellness Centre with massage, yoga, and treatments inspired by the African plains, an art gallery, kids' bushcraft centre, outdoor cinema, photo studio/photo lab, yoga and fitness facilities, and a retail outlet. The elevated two-tiered Lodge overlooks the Serengeti, and guests can enjoy relaxation, meditation, and adventure in equal measure. Sustainable construction and community empowerment were guiding principles behind the design.

Restaurant

Dining features multiple restaurant options including the main Acacia restaurant, Kisimani pool bar and restaurant, an outdoor Boma experience, and the Divai wine cellar with chef's table. Menus blend local flavors and international influences with the freshest locally-sourced ingredients. The chefs are committed to producing the highest quality dishes, and guests can enjoy dining overlooking the Serengeti plains or under the stars at the outdoor Boma.

The lodge offers a world-class safari experience with access to one of the world's most iconic wildlife ecosystems, where over 1.5 million wildebeest, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, traverse the land in the epic Great Migration journey.
