Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp

Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp

Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp is a small mobile tented camp located in the central Seronera region of the Serengeti, perfectly positioned in the game-rich heart of Tanzania's most famous national park. The name "Kati Kati" literally means "center" in Swahili, reflecting its strategic location in the fantastic central Serengeti Plains. The camp is open all year except April and offers a true, authentic African safari experience where spaces are vast, game is abundant, and sightings are reliably good year-round.

Rooms

The camp consists of 10 double tents and 1 family tent arranged in a long row, all with en-suite facilities. Tents are spacious and comfortable, reasonably simple but well-equipped with khaki-colored furnishings that blend with natural surroundings. Each tent features either one king-sized bed or two twin beds, plastic windows allowing natural light while keeping mosquitoes at bay, and a small shaded veranda with deck chairs at the front for admiring views over the Serengeti plains. The tents are khaki-colored in order to blend in with the natural surroundings.

About

The camp is located in the central Serengeti, a prime spot for cheetah viewing on the vast open plains, and offers year-round wildlife encounters including zebra, elephant, hyena, giraffe, and other animals that roam through the camp itself. The location provides a front-row seat to the epic wildlife destination with nearby attractions such as the Grumeti River (of Great Migration fame, a two-hour scenic drive away) and Olduvai Gorge Museum (home to pre-historic man, also two hours away). During the wildebeest migration, animal action is thrilling and peaks in May.

Meals

Guests can enjoy snacks and beers around the campfire, sharing stories of the day's safari adventures with fellow guests in an intimate atmosphere complemented by the charming nature of the staff. Meals are served in the mess tent featuring local and international flavors, either inside or outdoors, with picnics in the bush also available.

Activities

Activities include game drives in the game-rich central Serengeti and visits to local Maasai villages to learn about their culture and traditions. The camp offers a refined version of camping in the wild African bush with fully-equipped tents.

The camp provides a relaxed and intimate atmosphere with just ten en-suite guest tents, allowing guests to immerse themselves in an authentic bush experience. When not on safari or bush excursions, guests can relax in the lounge tent or library, or sit on their private veranda while watching for passing wildlife. You'll fall asleep to the sounds of the wild, experiencing the real aim of your journey – a bona fide safari in the wilds of Tanzania with relatively few frills to help focus on wildlife viewing.
