Burunge Tented Lodge

Burunge Tented Lodge is a scenic safari lodge located in the Burunge Wildlife Management Area, just outside Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania. The lodge is strategically positioned between Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara, overlooking Lake Burunge from an elevated ridge 1,000 ft above sea level. Located approximately 10 minutes from the Sangaiwe entrance gate to Tarangire and 20 minutes from Tarangire National Park.

Rooms

The lodge features 30 tented rooms including 20 standard tents (on raised platforms/floor with thatched roofs) and 10 elevated lodge rooms/suite houses. All accommodations are perched on wooden stilts overlooking Lake Burunge, each with en-suite bathroom with shower, large beds with mosquito nets, private verandah/terrace, and solar lighting with standby generator. The tents are elevated for beautiful views of sunset and wildlife in surrounding bushes, maximizing connection to nature while providing comfortable safari accommodation.

Facilities & Dining

The lodge features a restaurant and bar with raised wooden deck offering sweeping views of Lake Burunge, buffet with variety of European and African food, and an infinity swimming pool for rejuvenation. The restaurant is placed in an outdoor setting overlooking the lake, creating peaceful dining atmosphere. Additional facilities include laundry service, curio/gift shop, internet access in public areas, and opportunities for private dinner under the stars. Activities include guided nature walks, cultural visits to neighbouring Mbugwe villages (where you can learn about their way of life), walks around the lake's shoreline to witness variety of birds, and game drives in nearby Tarangire National Park famous for elephant herds and baobab landscapes.
