Tarangire Sopa Lodge

Tarangire Sopa Lodge is a luxury safari hotel located on the eastern side of the Tarangire River opposite Tarangire Hill in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania. The lodge is hidden among kopjes, ancient baobab trees, and grasses, specifically built as a 'low profile' structure that nestles into a wooded hillside valley, blending seamlessly with the environment. It's the only luxury 'hotel-like' lodge in Tarangire and one of Tanzania's most easily accessible conservation areas.

The lodge features 75 spacious round-shaped luxury suites/suites accommodating 160 guests, all privately established and connected by stone walkways. Each large room includes wall-to-wall carpeting, a private lounge with minibar, bedroom with two queen-size beds (with ample room for third bed and mosquito net), en-suite bathroom with shaver sockets and hair dryer, wall-to-wall carpeting, ceiling fans for cooling, and private verandah/balcony with glass sliding doors offering stunning views over baobab-studded landscape. Views & Wildlife

The lodge overlooks Tarangire Hill and the baobab-studded landscape that plays host to a vast variety of resident and migratory bird life plus a high population of elephants. Tarangire is home to the greatest concentration of elephants in Africa with majestic herds of up to 300 elephants, and many can be seen around the lodge allowing visitors close encounters. The park is home to elusive leopards and other big game such as lions, cheetah, buffalo, and over 400-545 bird species including vibrant yellow-collared lovebirds and shy starlings, making it a sought-after destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers.
