Maramboi Tented Lodge

Maramboi Tented Lodge is a classic luxury safari camp situated between Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara, only a 10-minute drive from Tarangire Park Gate and very close to Lake Manyara's eastern shore. Set on a 25,000-acre (approx. 10,000 hectares) private game concession in a pristine wildlife corridor, the lodge sits in fields of golden vegetation among an oasis of palm trees in a peaceful, private concession south-east of Lake Manyara. The lodge offers expansive views of the Great Rift Valley, Ngorongoro Highlands, rolling golden grasslands, and palm-lined desert.

Rooms

The lodge has 44 large, well-appointed, en-suite tents evenly spread out to create privacy, including 38 spacious tented rooms and 6 family rooms (perfect for guests with children). Tents are cottage-style with thatched roofs and solid wood floors finished in African styling, built on raised wooden platforms/decks approximately 30 square meters each. Each tent features a furnished private terrace with views of Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley, with options for king-sized beds or two single beds. The family tents consist of interconnecting rooms, ideal for families.

Dining

The main building is raised on wood and concrete platform with extraordinary views, including comfort sofas and armchairs in the lounge (with board games), outdoor and indoor dining areas, and a swimming pool. Every evening a campfire is lit where guests relax and enjoy sunset with drinks and appetizers. When weather is good, guests can have dinner outside under the stars. The lodge offers à la carte dining, buffet meals, full board, pool bar, and kid meals. It's a larger property at relatively low price given room size and comfort.

Activities

Wildlife calls at the door of Maramboi – you can see zebras, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles, migrating herds of wildebeest and zebra followed by predators from your tent terrace, swimming pool, or while enjoying dinner under stars. Activities include game drives in Tarangire National Park, guided nature walks, bird watching along Lake Manyara shores (especially in wet season with huge flamingo flocks), hot air balloons, swimming, private sundowners, and nature walks. The unique location on the outside fringe of park boundary offers many activities not available at properties inside park gate, including excellent bird-watching with over 380 bird species recorded.
